The film tells the story of the Nazi occupation of the Grand Duchy in a small village in the north of the country. The peasants Mill and Välten vowed to always be there for each other. But, Josette's love will separate them and the German occupation will upset their lives. Confiscations and humiliations, the threat of forcible enlistment, the collaboration of certain villagers, the death of close relatives, and deportations invade their universe.
